One of my 8th grade advisees got to go to the Necco plant for the unveiling of the 2009 phrases for Sweethearts Conversation Hearts. In addition to this picture on boston.com, she was also on the morning news and made it into the Boston Globe and the Metro. Plus, she got to meet Ming Tsai.
Also, Ruben Sanca, a fellow Dorchester resident and the first person I ran with when I moved to Boston, was in the Faces in the Crowd section of Sports Illustrated magazine this past week for his successful cross country season at UMass Lowell. It was very surprising to open up my issue and actually know someone!
